Eden Hairdressing was originally Alan's Hairdressing, the name was changed in September 2024.

Alan started his hairdressing apprenticeship in the 70's in the neighbouring village of Scotby. In 1983 Alan went on to run his own salon at Tavistock House, Wetheral (Now the Posting Pot Cafe) as well as running a busy salon and having a young family he also taught Hairdressing at Carlisle College.

In 2001 Tavistock House was sold and Alan's Hairdressing relocated up the road to The Old School house and after being the 'Saturday girl' for 10 years his eldest daughter Paula started working with him full time. In 2014 The Old School House was also sold to make way for new housing and Alan's moved into the brand new Wetheral Village Community Hall.

The salon moved into the fist floor of the hall in 2014, it is a large bright salon and has stunning views of the surrounding area. The salon shares the building with other businesses and groups which creates a lovely sense of community. 2019 Paula took over the business and Alan took a step back to spend time with his family and enjoy semi retirement and in 2024 the salon name was changed to Eden to reflect the new focus of the salon to be a greener more sustainable salon. Paula qualified as a Trichologist helping clients with hair loss and scalp complaints and so the story continues........

  • Trichology - Paula is a qualified trichologist, she can support you every step of they way to provide effective diagnosis and advice on treatments as well as emotional support. Trichology is the study of the structure and conditions of the hair and scalp. A full consultation, including an examination can be done privately when the salon is closed or in the salon with other clients present. www.edentrichology.co.uk for more information
  • Weddings - We are highly experienced in Wedding hair. A trial of your wedding day hair will give you the opportunity to explore different ideas and options for your big day. It will also give you an idea of the amount of time you will need to allow. On the day you and your party can enjoy the full attention of our stylists in the salon or we are fully insured for the stylist to travel to your home or hotel room. (Within 4 miles)
  • Eyebrow and Eyelash Tinting - A skin test 48 hours prior to your fist appointment is required
  • Cancelation Policy - We understand that life happens and plans can change. To keep things running smoothly for all our clients, we kindly ask that you follow our cancellation guidelines: Notice Period – Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late Cancellations – Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% service fee. No-Shows – Missed appointments without notice will be charged 100% of the booked service. Running Late – If you’re more than 15 minutes late, we may need to adjust your service or reschedule to avoid delays for other clients.
